Airbnb hosts don’t hesitate to help. Since the Open Homes relief program started in 2012, more than 11,000 guests have had a place to stay in times of need, and at no charge.

“I’m a bit of a sensualist,” admits designer and Airbnb Plus host Matthew Kellen. “I love the visual arts, design, music, food and travel.”
