ABOUT ME

I thrive on finding compelling people and building stories around them. I am a writer and editor with close to 20 years of professional experience in print and broadcast journalism.

Before I was in television, I racked up nearly 10 years of reporting experience in New York City, Asia, Washington D.C., and Chicago. I began as a magazine editor in New York, working my way up from an editorial assistant at People to associate features editor at ELLE. In 2008, I packed my bags, waved goodbye to my air shaft-facing room in the Big Apple, and said hello to Beijing, where I covered the Olympics.

I am currently a writer and multimedia journalist based in San Francisco, California. I work for a creative agency and production companies to field produce, coach talent, write scripts and shoot video. I also help start up companies with marketing strategy. Before going freelance, I was a general assignment reporter and multimedia journalist for NBC Bay Area and KING-TV.

I graduated with a Master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, and have a Bachelor's degree in communications from UCLA.

I was born and raised in Madison, but I don't wear cheese on my head. For more, see my bio and resume.

REEL & PORTFOLIO

Marketing, video, audio, print, photography, info-graphics β€” writers these days have to do it all. Here is a collection of the multimedia work I've done over the past few years in San Jose, Calif. in San Luis Obispo, Calif., Madison, Wisc., Washington D.C., and Chicago. There are also examples general assignment news, energy and environmental reporting, data analysis, and investigative work I did in New York City and Asia. More, I have experience reporting with a photographer, in teams, and hoofing it as a one-woman band.
